The stag beetle.
These are huge and surprisingly beautiful insects. At the beginning of summer, the forest near my house is filled with them. They fight for the favor of the ladies, trying to throw the opponent from the branch to the ground. In the evenings, these magnificent creatures solemnly fly in the air. The life of an adult beetle is very short: only a few weeks. By Midsummer, only the occasional carapace and horns of these fighters remind of a recent celebration. Shooting: June 2020.
